GEO for home care agencies
Home Care SEO for Google and the AI Answer.
LLMReach is an SEO and GEO agency for home care agencies and senior living communities. Our senior living SEO helps you rank in Google and get named by ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini when families ask who to trust.
By the numbers
The numbers behind how families choose.
- the number of nursing homes in the United States in 2022.
- 14,700
- the number of nursing homes in the United States in 2022.
- CDC, National Center for Health Statistics: Nursing Home Care
What families search and ask first
Families search Google, then ask AI.
- Home care: “best home care agency in Richmond, Virginia”. The answer names a few agencies and leans on directories like Caring.com and A Place for Mom, so the families who call are the ones it names.
- Assisted living: “best assisted living facility in Irvine”. The assistant builds a short list from senior living directories, and communities missing from them are not named.
- Memory care: “best memory care in Boulder”. Families facing a hard choice trust the shortlist. It is drawn from directories and community pages that state services clearly.
- Nursing home: “best nursing home in Huntsville”. The assistant names the facilities it can confirm in outside sources, and a vague website leaves it nothing to repeat.
Most care websites say little that is specific. In our searches, assistants kept citing Caring.com, A Place for Mom and MyLivingChoice, and they did so more than the care providers' own sites. A vague site loses in both places.
The basics
Home care SEO, now that AI answers.
Home care SEO puts your pages in Google's results when families search for care. GEO gets your agency named when families ask an assistant instead. Senior living SEO needs both.
Assistants build answers from your pages, reviews and directories. In our test of 30 answers, Caring.com, A Place for Mom and MyLivingChoice were cited most. Learn the GEO basics.
For care providers, that means two jobs. Make service and city pages specific enough to rank and be quoted by AI. Keep profiles complete, so AI visibility follows.
GEO and SEO
SEO vs GEO for care providers.
Both rest on the same service pages, reviews and profiles, but Google ranks them and an assistant quotes them. This is where they differ for a care provider.
| SEO | GEO | |
|---|---|---|
| What you win | A position in Google's list and local pack | Your agency named in the assistant's answer |
| Where the family sees you | The results for "home care near me" | The short list ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity gives families |
| What decides it | Relevance, reviews and page experience | Facts the assistant can confirm on your site and in profiles |
| Sources that weigh most | Your website and Google Business Profile | Your site plus Caring.com, A Place for Mom and MyLivingChoice |
| How it is measured | Rankings, calls and tour requests | Citations across agreed family prompts, and visits from AI assistants |

Care types
Where SEO and GEO matter, by care type.
Home care
Families search by city and need. Clear pages on services, hours and service area help buyers and assistants pick you.
Assisted living
Families compare communities before a tour. Pages on amenities, care levels and location give assistants facts to quote.
Memory care
Families ask which community fits a parent. Plain pages on programs and staffing put you in the answer.
Nursing homes
Families look for confirmed facts. Complete profiles, licensing details and consistent listings make you easy to name.
Home health care
Referrals and families search by service and city. State what you offer and where in plain words.
Respite and 24 hour care
These calls are urgent. Reviews, availability and local profiles carry weight when a family needs help fast.

How it works
How home care SEO works: the Citation Stack.

We map what families search in Google and ask AI, from "home care near me" to "memory care or assisted living". Then we agree the searches and prompts that bring in inquiries.

Not for you
If any of these sound like you.
- You expect new inquiries in the first few days
- You want the cheapest home care SEO you can find
- You only want a report on where your agency ranks
- You can't approve the service pages we write or share access to your site
For you

- Families compare providers before they call
- You can share licensing, services and community details
- You want the work done for you, not another report
- You have the final say on every page and are ready for a 90-day window
- The work pays off where families compare providers before they call.
- It also works where you can show real licensing, reviews and clear service details.
FAQ
Home care SEO: questions providers ask us.
What does home care SEO involve now that AI answers?
It still earns rankings in Google: service pages, technical fixes, local profiles and reviews. Now it also has to get your agency named when families ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini. One team handles both in the same 90 days. Our guide shows how SEO and GEO differ for a provider like yours.
What is GEO for home care agencies, and is it the same as AEO?
GEO for home care agencies is the work of getting your agency named in AI answers. AEO, AI SEO and LLM optimization for senior living describe the same work. So does ChatGPT optimization. The Citation Stack is our method, from prompt research to visibility tracking.
How long does senior living SEO take?
Usually months, not weeks. Local service pages tend to move first. Competitive searches like home care in a big city take longer. AI citations can move sooner, because profile updates are picked up fast. We report weekly against a baseline.
Do you handle SEO for nursing homes and assisted living?
Yes. SEO for nursing homes, assisted living and memory care follows the same approach as home health care SEO. We build city and community pages, fix technical issues and keep directory profiles consistent. Each care type has its own searches, so we research them separately.
Why do AI assistants cite directories instead of care provider websites?
Because Caring.com, A Place for Mom and MyLivingChoice hold structured, outside views of many providers. In our test of 30 answers, Caring.com appeared in 15 and A Place for Mom in 13. We keep your profiles complete and make your own site specific.
How do you get a care provider cited by ChatGPT and Perplexity?
We make your agency easy to confirm on the directories assistants read. Complete profiles and reviews come first. Then a page per service and city that answers the question first. Add schema, and track the prompts that matter. See local SEO services.
What do your home health care SEO services include?
Keyword and family prompt research, service and city pages, technical SEO and schema, consistent profiles, community research and weekly tracking against a baseline. The first step is a free AI visibility audit of the searches your families use.
How do you measure the work?
We track your Google rankings and count citations of your agency across the agreed family prompts in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini. The baseline comes first: we record where you stand before any work starts. Visits from AI assistants show up in GA4 as their own source, so you see which services bring them.
Can you work with healthcare compliance rules?
Yes. We make no medical claims and promise no health outcomes. We never use patient or resident data. Pages describe services, locations and licensing in plain language, and you have the final say on every page. For related work, see healthcare SEO.
What if we run several locations?
Each location needs its own page, profile and reviews, so assistants can confirm where you serve. We build one consistent set of facts across all of them. See GEO for multi-location businesses for how that works.

Do families find you on Google and AI?
